I’ve been using Coinbase Pro and the app for years. The website interface is a good experience with lots of great information and functionality. But I swear, the Coinbase Pro app is the worst crypto app in the cryptoverse. If I could, I’d do almost all of my cryptocurrency trading via apps, and Coinbase Pro makes me not want to even use their services.
First, Coinbase Pro provides you no profit/loss stats. I understand each crypto transaction lives independently of the next one, but still, investors need to see where they stand without running their own records. You can’t even see total prices plus fees for executing trades.
Next up is the inability to see full prices on your order fills. There are no fill prices at all on some screens. Again, you can’t see the fees with the transaction, and you can’t drill into transaction details after orders are filled.
Another major problem: the app rounds volumes and prices. The actual Coinbase Pro site doesn’t do this, because it doesn’t make sense. The crypto market trades in in more than two decimals, Why does the app not provide this detail?
Another huge pain about the Coinbase Pro app is the lack of a Watchlist or favorites list. Why would the people behind Coinbase not want me to watch a curated list of coins on their app?
My final, pickiest complaint – only Night Mode all the time? Why?
I’m so supremely frustrated. The app makes me want to avoid using Coinbase for any new purchase or trades.
To address the potential solution of “stop using the app” I think we all know that different exchanges offer different coins. Sometimes buying via CBP is still the best option, but it still sucks.
