Recently hired Reddit engineer Rahul has just revealed reddit's plan for community points. According to him, they will be rolled out sitewide:
Your Karma points will soon be tokens
Think community-based decisions, or forking subreddits in disagreements.
And all of this without even losing your community points? It's like moving from fb to Twitter without having to rebuild your followers.
Since Reddit has 500 Million monthly users, this will bring 500 Million people into crypto. That is literally 6% of the world right there.
Reddit has 500M monthly active users. When we all pull this off, we would onboard 500M web2 users into web3 and then there is no going back. Let me say that again – 500 million new crypto users.
I think you can all realize how bullish this is. 500 Million new crypto users is insanely massive. These next few months are going to be absolutely crazy.
