Hasbro Starting Lineup Drops NBA Action Figures With NFT Trading Cards

Nostalgia is a seductive feeling, and 90s kids will be happy to see NBA action figures back in action, and better than ever. Yes, the $50 action figures depicting some of the greatest NBA players of our time, like LeBron James, Steph Curry, Anthony Davis, and others, will now come with corresponding NFTs.

NBA Starting Lineup Is Back at It

With slightly less than month until the new season starts, NBA fans will have the chance to build their own starting lineup with the NBA action figures by Hasbro. The veteran toy maker just released the first batch of their new action figures, which can be pre-ordered for $49,99 apiece. While this is a significantly higher price than the old-school action figures, they do come with an array of advantages compared to their classic counterparts.

What’s Included in the Deal?

Building your dream team has never been easier! The first edition of the new NBA Starting Lineup action figures consists of some of the top players of the modern NBA, including, but not limited to:

  • Luka Dončič
  • Trae Young
  • Ja Morant
  • LeBron James
  • Joel Embiid

To give an example of the additional features, the Joel Embiid figure comes with an extra pair of hands, a flight stand, and a more detailed design than ever before. On top of that, the action figures are now 6 inches tall—more than the 90s edition. The original, nostalgic NBA action figures were 4 inches large, and came with physical collectible cards.

Starting today, basketball fans can get their hands on NFTs just as easily as physical collectible cards. According to Hasbro Pulse, an NFT trading card is issued immediately after purchase. However, buyers and enthusiasts will need to have a Panini account to access their new NFT cards.

On the Flipside

  • As of press time, there is no direct way to buy a Panini Sports NFT using crypto.
  • However, users can deposit crypto into the site’s dedicated wallet, which will then be automatically converted into USD.
  • The NFT included in the pack is only redeemable by users over 18 years of age.
