I’m pretty new to Reddit as you can probably see. I seem to have been irritating mods by trying to share a tool that I’ve built in what look like relevant subreddits – which I’m not going to do here because I am purely seeking advice now.
I spent quite a few months with a friend building something from a genuine research angle and I think we’ve done something quite cool. Once it was ready, of course we naturally wanted people to discover and to use it. So we came to Reddit.. but no matter how I try to get eyes on a link, we seem to disgruntle subreddits and get our posts removed or in some cases immediately banned! We really don’t want to annoy anyone – if anything we want to meet people and become participants of the community.
I am honestly not trying to thinly disguise a shill here – I won’t mention the target site anywhere in the thread whatever anyone says to prove it.
Would anyone be able to offer up advice of how to approach this exercise across multiple channels (here, X, Telegram) or make introductions to people who are genuinely interested in new analytics tooling? I know people are very wary in this space and that it’s a saturated one. We’ve got no interest in using spammy approaches and certainly don’t want to get a bad name for doing it wrong. Our tool has no paywall and we intend to keep it that way so naturally we want healthy engagement and sticky visitors who genuinely benefit from it.
Enormous thanks in advance from a newbie here.
